Bias Tugel Beach referred to by locals as Pantai Bias Tugel. This is a small bay with a 130-meter stretch of white sand just south of the Padangbai Harbour.

The bay offers a tranquil scene that is made possible by a long and narrow headland that obscures it from the hubbub of the nearby port.

Bias Tugel Beach actually is similar to Blue Lagoon Beach that exists in Padangbai. The difference between the beaches, there is a natural pool whose size is large enough.

Golden coloured sand is peppered with traces of volcanic black. Grains are large, but it’s still soft underfoot, although not squeaky.

Volcanic cliffs fuse into a rocky shoreline wrapping the headlands at each end of the beach.

Above the opposite headland, on Bias Tugel Beach’s southern end, you can make out what remains of a hotel project that was abandoned halfway into its development.

From Ngurah Rai International Airport around 57 km with a travel time of 1.5 hours using a motorized vehicle.

Location not far from the port of Padangbai, the port which is used as a means of crossing Bali - Lombok.

How to Get to Bias Tugel Beach

There is no public transportation to Bias Tugel Beach, so your options are self drive, or an organized Bali tour and taking a tour of east Bali to discover some of the best hidden gems!.

If you drive by your self and coming from Kuta or Seminyak, just drive to the east within 1,5 hours via Jalan Bay Pass Ida Bagus Mantra, and you will reach Padangbai.

To reach the Bias Tugel Beach point your vehicle to the port of Padangbai. Then head south from the ferry terminal along the road that passes the Post Office.

Continue steeply uphill for 750 metres, turning left at the signposted intersection. Five hundred metres later the road will lead to the ticket office.

From there it’s a steep walk down a narrow path to the beach. Upon arrival you will be amazed when looking at the beauty of the beaches.

No entrance fee required to visit Bias Tugel Beach or Pantai Bias Tugel, however it just small amount of 5,000 IDR for parking.

If wish to get snorkeling quipment can be rented from the locals which is only 100,000 to 150,000 IDR per person.

Besides snorkeling, you can surf or just sunbathe on the beach. For those of you who are brave enough, you can try sitting on a rock with trees behind you while enjoying a very charming natural landscape.

Facilities in Bias Tugel Beach are still not many. There are no hotels or restaurants built around the beach.

But you can buy small food and drinks in stalls that are still relatively simple. The food offered is quite diverse such as fried noodles and young coconut ice.

These stalls are only supported by bamboo with a roof of dried coconut leaves, quite comfortable for you to take a break.

In addition to food, there are stalls that sell Balinese fabrics that you can make souvenirs for your family or friends.

Some things you need to prepare before visiting Bias Tugel Beach include food and drinks if you and your family plan to play long enough on the beach.

Prepare a full camera or cellphone battery because there will be a lot of natural scenery which is a pity if not photographed.

And make sure you come when the weather is good and the water does not install so you can enjoy the beach to the full.

Best Time To Visit Bias Tugel Beach

The best time to visit Bias Tugel Beach or Pantai Bias Tugel is between April and October, the island's dry season.

However, July to September are the most ideal months to visit this beach since it is little rain and sometime no rain et all.

Throughout the year, the daytime temps hover between the mid-80s and low 90s, with only the humidity and precipitation patterns changing.

The lack of rain during the summer season makes Bali more comfortable for beachgoers.

Its real secret is that no one seems to know its official name. Pantai Bias Tugel is referred to as Pantai Kecil a local Balinese word that loosely translates to ‘the Little Beach’.

The word “Bias” means sand, while “Tugel” means cut. This beach has a coastline that is not too long which is about 200 meters.

Even so, this beach is called the whitest sand in Bali. Seawater that looks clear and the atmosphere of the beach is still quiet.

Bias Tugel Beach has a small lagoon located on the left side of the beach. You can swim or just soak in it.

Just do not do that when the sea tides because it does not rule out the possibility that you can get carried away by the waves.

The beach also has a water blow phenomenon. You just have to face the sea and look to the right, then you will find sea water that hit the reef so it looks like a fountain.
